The attackers told BBC Media that they carried out a damaging cyber attack on InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the owner of Holiday Inn, "for fun". Claiming to be from Vietnam, they initially attempted a ransomware attack and then deleted a large amount of data after being thwarted.
